Erling Haaland became the fastest player who scored 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League goals on Thursday, which broke the previous record in the process.
The Manchester City striker broke the impasse in the 56th minute of their meeting with 10-man Napoli in Eastlands, on the way to the cross of Phil Foden.
Haaland reached half a century of goals in the competition in just 49 performances, divided over the performances for Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and City.
The previous record holder was former Manchester United and Real Madrid Striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who did this in 62 performances. Lionel Messi got 50 in his 66th Champions League outing, but it was possible to do it at a younger age than Haaland. The ex-Barcelona and PSG star did this in 24 years and 284 years old, while the Norwegian is 25 years and 59 days old.
The top ten list of football players to reach the 50 goal in the least performances is an exclusive club of some the biggest attackers in European football history, which illustrates how remarkable the performance of Haaland is.
