The firming eye cream Direct FIRMx by Peter Thomas Roth is one of the most talked about beauty products on social media. The video that made the product go viral on TikTok has 44 million views today, and the product has since sold out almost as soon as it came into stock.

But now the eye cream has a challenger that, according to the description, should be easier to use but at the same time provide the same tightening effect. After months of waiting, he finally arrived in Sweden. ELLE’s beauty editor tested it – and is impressed!

Moisturizing, brightening, smoothing and firming – there’s a jungle of eye creams on the market and it can be tricky to find the right one! I have about ten different eye creams in my bathroom cabinet that I alternate between and usually choose a product based on what my skin needs at that moment. If I want to banish signs of sleep deprivation, I use an eye cream with a brightening effect (preferably containing caffeine to reduce puffiness), but if I want to boost with moisture, I opt for a mild and thicker version and apply a good layer to the skin before going to bed.

But a good eye cream that really tightens and lifts the thin skin under the eyes is difficult to find. That’s why I was on fire when I heard about new FIRMx® Eye temporary eye strengthener would come to Sweden! Because I’ll be honest: the original wasn’t for me. I find the product too thick and difficult to work with and feel like the product is rolling under makeup. All this should now be improved with the new eye cream. And I have to say I’m impressed!

Her FIRMx® Eye temporary eye strengthener is light in structure, which also makes it easy to apply. The peach-colored cream can best be described as a slightly cooling gel. But it’s not particularly moisturizing (nor should it be), so for best results I think it should be applied over a thin eye cream. The product promises to reduce “bags” and wrinkles and is said to have an immediate firming effect. Whatever it has!

Just a few seconds after applying the eye cream I feel something happening to the skin. It becomes a bit stiff, without feeling uncomfortable. And once the product has worked for about five minutes, a clear effect is visible – and a big difference. The area under the eyes is less puffy and the skin feels smoother!

I don’t have any major “problems” with crow’s feet, but I am starting to get fine lines under my eyes. I also have a distinct, slightly larger line running from the inner corner of the eye down under the eye, which is exactly where I notice the biggest difference. The line is quickly erased and the result almost looks like a smoothing filter effect! I think the result lasts well during the day, but it is important to remember that the effect is only temporary.

I have used STURDYx® Eye Temporary Eye Spanner on and off for a few weeks and tried different ways to apply it. For me it is best to use fingers when applying and apply the cream over a face cream or eye cream. But the most important thing is not to overdose (a small click is enough)! Then the eye cream rolls on and the result can be dry and cakey. The description also states that it is preferable not to touch your face during the five minutes that the product is supposed to work.

I’ve also tried applying the cream over makeup – and it works! But to ensure that the eye cream does not become dry and patchy over the make-up, it is important that the skin underneath is well hydrated. A perfect hack if you want to quickly get a more energetic feeling and appearance during the day!

It is important to remember that the product is temporary (and that is how it is marketed). In other words, you won’t get rid of lines and bags by using it morning and night. The eye cream is not a product that I would use every day, but I prefer it when I want to feel extra energetic for a party or an important meeting.
