On Saturday 08/09/2025 on Saratoga Racecourse in Saratoga, NY., The 12oneand last horse race of the day was mentioned on 1 1/8oneMiles on the Turf by Nyra (New York Racing Association)

It looks like it and it is confirmed that the race was performed on 1 1/16one Instead of the appointed and mentioned distance of 1 1/8one .

There was no advanced word before, during or immediately after the race about the change, or distance errors.

About 15 minutes after the completion of the race and the official results were posted, it was confirmed that the race was performed at the incorrect distance. Nothing else was publicly announced, nothing. And to be in a horror for horse players and gamblers who use this race, history tells us that investigations into situations after a race is officially considered is useless. In other words, there will be no reimbursement of deployment. For those gamblers and horse players, who are the lifeline of the sport, they actually tell us that we just have to ‘keep and bet’.

Imagine in an NFL game that the opening of the 50-Yard line takes place without explanation.

Imagine that in the NBA the rims were lowered from 10ft to 9ft without explanation.

Imagine in baseball that the hill of the pitcher was moved from 60’6 “to 50 feet

And imagine that a 400 -meter race was run at 350 meters without an explanation in Track & Field.

People in employment, track officials, must be held responsible

Placed distances and regulated distances (parameters), in every sport determines how that sport, racing, play of game is strategized and executed. And in the day of today where gambling is legal worldwide in almost every sport and more, it is important.

In horse races there is usually 25-30 minutes between races. During that time, the Startpoort is close to where the race will start based on the published and stated distance from the next race in programs (PPs).

This also means that the track -stewards (prevailing officials), tracking employees, gate employees, starters, outriders, horse owners, trainers, jockeys and the general public (*fans and gambling are the lifeline of the sport / industry) will be well aware of where the start, finish and distance of the race will be. But as gamblers and fans, they trust the trust and transparency of every sport, what they promote, offer, exhibit, the absolute truth, no bait and switch, is for improving a hidden agenda.

I can’t emphasize this than just saying: “It is so difficult for a striking mistake as this to stay through so many eyes unnoticed.” In most, if not all, large races in the world, there is direct communication between the stewards and those responsible for the position of the Startpoort to be correct

From the point of view of gambling / disabilities it matters, and it is much important for how the dynamics of the race will be performed and the gambling perspective and the outcome of the race changes. And not only the race in question, but several races because you can combine races in your bets such as Parlays, etc …

If you were to view the repetition of the race in question (Race 12 in Saratoga, Saturday 8.9.25), the 10 horse, which finished 3RDwill most likely continue its rally and wins when it is performed on the correct 1 1/8oneDistance. And in his canter it shows this faith. Moreover, the entire race can be run differently if they are performed on the 1 1/8oneDistance. You wonder if one of the trainers, jockeys, stewards or who else was aware of this change / wrong

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) must make a public explanation, a truthful explanation about how and why it happened, and make a decision for the improvement, transparency of sport and industry.

The horse racing industry has a black eye and it has been growing for 30+ years, faster and worse than the steroid scandal in baseball in the 90s. It loses its regular horse players, those who live in sport and keep it alive. These types of authorities continue to reject those who take care of the sport and keep the sport.

I am not here to tell you what they should do, it is pretty clear and simple for me and many others. But there are so many factors together, from job, to threw tickets, to ADWs, CRWs, CAWs, fixed opportunities bets, potential loss of jobs and more. It is a challenging situation, but it is one that should not be rejected and must be swept under the carpet.

It must be treated in advance and there must be a correct solution for the improvement of all parties involved. People must be held responsible and a public statement as soon as possible !!!

There is a solution, if Nyra people take this seriously and really think about doing the right thing for a change. They could finally rectify a mistake, do something positive for the sport, and for the lifeline of the sport, who are fans and those who finance it through their gambling dollars.

I hope history will change this time, and they do the right one, but don’t expect it.

UPDATE: A few minutes after this was published, we receive the official statement from NYRA with regard to this race. Click here to read the instruction.
