King of the Court chooses today, Tuesday, January 20

Each week we highlight some of Dimers’ most projected players, as well as some longshots as examples of what users can find in the Dimers Pro NBA Projections Hub.

Presenting a combination of top performances and some darkhorse candidates, bettors will find a mix of players to choose from.

Dimers’ highest projected PRA totals

Luka Doncic (Lakers) | Projected: 47.9 PRA

Once again, Luka Doncic leads our overall top projections, albeit with a slightly lower total than we’ve seen lately.

He is always a threat to take the lead, but in the last three games he has finished below the 50-point threshold, which has been the threshold for every King of the Court winner to date.

Still, the Dimers model projects him as the night’s leading scorer at 32.5 and the second-highest assist total of the night at 8.1 against the Nuggets.

James Harden (Clippers) | Projected: 41.2 PRA

Moving on to those who can challenge the top overall leader, James Harden lands second in our projections with 41.2 PRA, fresh off a 52 PRA performance versus the Wizards.

Harden dropped more than 30 points in consecutive games with Kawhi Leonard out, all despite shooting an abysmal 2-17 from three-point range.

If he can dial it in deep tonight against the Bulls, he could come close to another 30-point triple-double like he did last night.

Harden’s best games this year — 56 PRA, 66 PRA, 52 PRA, 65 PRA — all came over a two-week stretch in November, all with Kawhi Leonard out. He just had his best game since that series again without Leonard, and could be primed for another series of big games.

Anthony Edwards (Timber Wolves) | Projected: 41.1 PRA

Third in today’s PRA totals, by the narrowest of margins, is Anthony Edwards, who previously won King of the Court when coming third in this article, returning a $108 bonus bet.

Edwards projects a 41.1 PRA, a figure he erased in his first game with a 55-point performance for a total of 62 PRA.

His greatest achievements are anchored by huge scoring performances. He is the fifth-highest scorer in the league, but is outside the NBA’s top 60 in both assists and rebounds.

That might be enough for him though; When he won the King of the Court on December 2, he recorded 44 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, and he has posted multi-game stretches of 40-point leads more than once this season.

With just one game above 35 points since Christmas, he could be heating up after his last outing, and will have an excellent matchup with the Jazz who rank last in the NBA in points, AST and threes made over the past seven games and all season.

Dimers’ long-range goals

Jamal Murray (Nuggets) | Projected: 39.2 PRA

We don’t look too far outside the top of the board for our longshot picks, starting with Jamal Murray who ranks 5th overall with 39.2 PRA. He is considered likely for tonight against Los Angeles.

Murray fell 4 PRA behind the crown the last time he was featured in this article with 46, turning in a 51 PRA performance last Saturday.

His career-best results across the board continue and he gets his first crack at the Lakers tonight, which could lead to a matchup between top scorers in Luka and Murray.

Murray could find himself in a shootout with a Lakers team that has scored 28.1 points and 4.5 threes per game over the past seven games

Julius Randle (Timber Wolves) | Projected: 37.5 PRA

For our ultimate goal, we’ll revisit that same great game for Anthony Edwards and look at the prospects for his teammate Julius Randle.

Randle isn’t a dominant scorer like Edwards, but he can put up numbers this season with seven 30-point games, including his best last Friday with 39 points.

He also has the benefit of double-digit rebounding and has two triple-doubles this year, so he isn’t dependent on scoring big points like Edwards.

It’s worth noting that his two triple doubles came on below-average scoring nights (19 points), but one of those came against this Utah team (most REB and AST were allowed to advance over the past seven games) and he only needs a few more buckets to raise his PRA ceiling.
