Pff’s Fantasy Football Summary focuses on the use of players and statistics, so that all the vital information you need to achieve fantasies successes in 2025 split.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Carolina Panthers

The Steelers use a surprising declining rotation: Jaylen Warren started the game, while Kenneth Gainwell played on the third downs.
Most fantasy managers assumed that Rookie of the third round this season would be the Steelers’ early, while Warren played passing downs. The first two weeks of the preseason showed that Gainwell is clearly in their plans. He was the starter in the two pre -season matches, while Warren was one of the veterans who had a day off.
The Steelers have had a fairly clear rotation in recent seasons. Najee Harris played on Early Downs and Warren played on the third downs and served as a backup of Harris on Early Downs. In this game, Warren played in the role of Harris, while Gainwell played in the role of Warren. Gainwell was occasionally a third back with the Philadelphia Eagles. Johnson took over on the third ride, while other players who started the game still played.
This is good news for the fantasy value of Warren and Gainwell and bad news for Johnson. A combination of eight broad receivers and four tight ends rested or played on the first two discs. Johnson is the only skill player of the Steelers who is expected to make the schedule but only played in the third ride. Although we can reach a point of the season where Johnson plays 50% of the team’s attacking snaps, it seems that we are at least a few weeks away from that point. In the past it was general thinking that Warren would play no more than 60% of snaps, so Johnson would have a safe 40%. Now he should beat Warren for any early snaps. Anyone who sets Johnson should not expect him to be in their fantasy -starting line -up this month.
On the other hand, Warren seems to be in store for double digit early in the season, as well as a considerable amount of work in the passing game. Gainwell is usually not -pulled into fantasy competitions. His advantage is not that high, but he could be a borderline -fantasia -starter in this role in larger competitions.
The reception area of the stalkers remains restless: Pittsburgh used six different wide recipients on the first disk in a unique rotation.
DK Metcalf is locked in the X receiver spot of the stalkers. Calvin Austin III is expected to be the second recipient, but he has also missed the entire preseason because of a abdominal injury. All others fight for the third course and the rest of the schedule spots, while some players who played today during the first ride are cut. One of the different broad receivers fighting for a place on the depth card is Ben SkowRonek, but he missed his second-straw season match because of a toe injury. He will probably make the schedule of 53 men as a backup wide receiver, but that is not guaranteed.
Roman Wilson and Brandon Johnson started the game. Wilson played most snaps after each of the first pair of discs and is the favorite to be a starter. Johnson only played the first five snaps. It is possible that at that time he sustained an injury, or he was pulled out of the game rather than the rest of the starters. Lance McCutcheon was the next man on the outside for Johnson, while Robert Woods was Wilson’s backup. Or Johnson or McCutcheon will be the Back -up X receiver. Skowronek is usually a final receiver, and Scott Miller and unguomed Rookie Max Hurleman rotated as the final recipients for this game. At least one of them will make the schedule, while the other two fights with Woods for the last schedule. Since this room is so restless, it is also possible that the steelers add a player or two, leaving even more of these players from the selection.
Brycen Tremayne Locks possibly at a schedule: The former Washington Commanders wide recipient was one of the broad recipients of the Panthers who had the night free.
Carolina rested starters and keyback -ups, including the three starting wide recipients Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette and Adam Thielen. Jalen Coker also appears locked up in a schedule. He played this week, which would usually not be the best sign for his playing time, but he missed last week’s game because of an illness, so this was an opportunity Prepare it for week 1While other important players were prepared last week.
While the Panthers have several other remarkable broad recipients, including David Moore, who played 569 attacking Snaps for the team, Hunter Renfrow last year, and the sixth Round Rookie Jimmy Horn Jr., Tremayne was the fourth wide receiver who had the night free.
Tremayne spent two seasons in the practice team of the commanders and was elevated for two games where he caught one pass. He signed a futures contract with Carolina outside season this season. In the first match of the preseason, he mainly played with Moore and Horn in the third quarter, while Renfrow was injured. Last week he took a snap for Legette on the opening ride. He played two snaps with the starters on the first two discs and then played with Moore and Renfrow from the fourth ride.
Although it seems unlikely that Tremayne will have a fantasy value this season without several injuries, this means at least one, and probably two, of the other remarkable broad recipients, the schedule will not make. Carolina kept five to six broad recipients on the Roster last season, so it is also possible that all three do not make it, or there will be a surprise with the top four.
Various notes
New England Patriots @ New York Giants

Multiple Patriots wide receiver spots Protected: Eight different broad recipients did not participate in this game for New England.
Stefon Diggs, Demario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins are four broad recipients who were healthy enough to play in the game on Thursday evening, but they rested the patriots. Diggs did not play on all this preseason, but reportedly Right to practiceLooking ahead to week 1. Douglas seems to be the final receiver, while Boutte and Hollins have fought for the other starting place. The fact that none of them played on Thursday when they could have suggested that their schedules are safe. Third round Rookie Kyle Williams has I missed some practice this weekWhat led him not to play. His place is also safe.
The Patriots held six broad recipients last season. The teams of the past of Mike Vrabel have sometimes held five. This means that there may be a schedule, or two if they really want to keep two more.
Kendrick Bourne has also been outside the entire preseason because of a legbling. The Patriots still mention him as a starter on the Depth card unofficialBut many believe he may not be on the roster By that time next week. Not -Started Rookie Ephon Chism III is the talk of the training camp. He has to deal with a unknown injurywhich makes it unable to play. He and Douglas are the only players mentioned so far who have seen double digits in the lock, and it probably seems to make the grid, so that Bourne would look inside on the outside. Former Pick Javon Baker started against the Panthers and also seems unlikely to make the schedule. He was one of only four broad recipients for New England Active for this game, so he played considerably.
Former second round Pick Ja’lynn Polk is reportedly Seasonal shoulder surgery. This will give him a injured reserve, and he will have to fight for his schedule next season.
Cam Tax Bo makes his New York Giants debut: Skattebo had missed the first two pre -season matches due to an injury.
Skattebo was a pick with the fourth round and was expected to fight for considerable playing time during the training camp. Unfortunately he missed a little more than two weeks of training camp because of a hamstring injury. He played Elke Snap on the first two discs and his day was done before the rest of the Giants players who started in this game. This game does not give us any indication of how much playing time he will get, but it was good to see that he is healthy enough to play, so we know we can expect him to play in week 1. It was also good to see him play on every down, instead of the giants that limit him to a specific situation.
Various notes
- The patriots rested more than 30 players tonight. That included running Treveyon Henderson and Antonio Gibson and a tight end of Austin Hooper.
- Patriots who ran back Rhamondre Stevenson missed last week’s preset season because of an unknown injury. He returned to practice On Monday in a contactless sweater.
- Tight end hunter Henry missed the race of last week’s prescription and missed the training because of a unknown injury. It is unclear whether he was fed up with an injury or because of a starter.
- The Giants rested back and ran back Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary, broad recipients Malik Nubers, Wan’dale Robinson and Darius Slayton, and tight end Theo Johnson.
- Nubers had missed this time with the exercise, but he returned on Tuesday to practice.
- Daniel Bellinger and Chris Manhertz missed the match last week due to injuries, but they both came back on Tuesday. It is unclear whether they have not played this week due to an injury or because their roster spots are safe.
- Back -up that runs back, Eric Gray remains unable to perform the list on the physically. He missed the entire preseason and the training camp.
- Giants Unsigned Rookie wide recipient Beaux Collins looks pretty likely to make the giant schedule. He could possibly reach fourth on the depth card about Jalin Hyatt, but in the worst case he is fifth. The team usually keeps six broad recipients on the Roster.
Table notes
- Snaps include plays that are mentioned back because of penalties, including keeping offensive or defensive pass -interference. The other three statistics have removed these plays.
- Goals can differ from official NFL sources. The most likely discrepancy would come from a clear shot pass, whereby the NFL can give the target to the nearest recipient, while this data does not.
- Carries are only on designed plays. Quarterback Scrambles do not count for the total number of Carry’s in the game.
