- The Chevrolet Corvette recently completed the quarter mile in 8.675 seconds.
- In the same run he sprinted from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 1.68 seconds.
- It achieved those figures with the standard aero configuration and the standard Michelin PS4S tires.
There is no discussion: the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X is officially the fastest production car in America. The automaker tested its supercar in October, where it completed the quarter mile in 8.675 seconds at a speed of 155 miles per hour.
In the same run, the ZR1X sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 1.68 seconds. According to Chevy, the Corvette reached 60 mph in less than 100 feet while generating an acceleration force of 1.75 G. Impressive.
The Corvette ZR1X pairs a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged LT7 V8 engine with an electric motor on the front axle, creating a combined output of 1,250 horsepower. Power goes to all four wheels. Chevrolet completed the run in its standard aero configuration and was matched to standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
The time under 9.0 seconds was not just a fluke either. Chevy claims the Corvette ZR1X “completed multiple back-to-back quarter-mile runs, all in under 8.8 seconds.”
“When we made the revolutionary move to a mid-engine platform, we knew this was the kind of performance that was possible,” said Mark Reuss, president of General Motors.
The ZR1X is the latest Corvette to return a 0-60 time of less than 3.0 seconds. The Corvette Stingray with the Z51 Performance Package can reach 60 in just 2.9 seconds. The ZR1 needs just 2.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

Taking Motor1s: Chevrolet proves once again that the American sports car is of unbeatable value, and can keep up with and even beat supercars and hypercars, which are much more expensive. The Bugatti Tourbillon, which starts at about $5 million, takes 8.8 seconds to run the quarter mile and 1.9 seconds to reach 60, but the American sports car is faster and cheaper. You can hear the eagles screaming now
