Vikings Training Camp Rent officially on in Eagan, because veterans will report to the camp on Tuesday.

The Minnesota Vikings hope to call a new era of football for the franchise, because JJ McCarthy is starting to become the team of the team. While the camp starts for the Vikings, there are some of the biggest questions that the franchise is confronted with the 2025 season.

Will Josh Metellus receive a contract extension?

The Minnesota Vikingen have seen a big defensive game in the past two seasons, and it is no coincidence that this success coincided with the rise of safety Josh Metellus.

The man does it all.

One game, he will come back with playing free safety, and the next one, he will be the line of scrimmage ready to blitz or help with the defense. Metellus is really the Swiss pocket knife of the defense of the Vikings, and as a result he is looking forward to a large payment day with his next contract.

This season outside the season, the Vikings watched Camryn Bynum Walk in Free Agency when he signed a four -year -old deal with the Indianapolis Colts worth $ 60 million. There is a good chance that Metellus will get a deal of that size or perhaps even greater with a third successful season in the Brian Flores system.

Add Harrison Smith’s threatening pension that a subject will be around 36-year-old the entire season, and the Vikings can look at the safety position in 2026 if a drastic need as a metellus does not sign an extension.

It seems that signs point to Metellus that stays in Minnesota with a contract extension, but it is also very possible Kwesi Adofo-Mensah concludes that he does not want to pay big money, similar to what happened to Bynum this year.

Do the Vikings have enough firepower at Cornerback?

It is a question that nags at Vikings fans all out of season without a real way to get a concrete answer, at least, so far when players start to arrive in training camp: do the Vikings really have enough talent in the cornerback position?

Of course Byron Murphy remains the headliner in the group after signing a new three -year -old deal to stay in Minnesota. The veteran handed in a fantastic season in 2024 and remains the CB1 of Minnesota on the way to this season.

The question is more about the names behind Murphy in the position. Isaiah Rodgers started with 13 games since entering the NFL in 2020; Can he really be familiar to play consistently at the level of a CB2 all season?

Behind him, Mekhi Blackmon comes from an injury that eliminates his entire campaign from 2024, Jeff Okudah is another tree-of-bust Wildcard, and Dwight Mcglothern is a UDFA from 2024 who only played 19 defending Snaps throughout the season.

Who gets more Carry’s: Aaron Jones or Jordan Mason?

Aaron Jones signed a two-year contract to stay with the Vikings this season, and although the declining career heights in Carry’s and hasty yards are compiled last year, he starts his age-31 season and has to be able to leave some gas in the tank for January if the Vikings want to make a deep run.

That is where the signing of Jordan Mason comes into play. Mason is a Downhill -Hardroper who received a total of 789 Yards with 5.2 yards per Carry for the 49ers last season.

Jones started the season that 85 wears for 443 Yards (5.2 yards per Carry) and a few touchdowns during the first six games of the season. He also added 20 receptions for 190 yards and another touchdown.

That solid start of the year ended slowly when the last 11 games of the season, Jones 170 set up for 695 Yards (4.1 yards per Carry) and three touchdowns, and as a receiver he caught 31 steps for 218 yards and another touchdown.

The Vikings became dependent on Jones a bit too long as the season progressed, so hopefully Mason can help the veteran manage his endurance by taking a little bit of that load.

When does Christian Darrisaw return to the field?

Christian Darrisaw suffered a seasonal knee injury last season in week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams, and it is still to be seen when he is ready to return to the playing field.

De Left Tackle on the star did individual exercises during the mini camp, but since the injury happened about nine months ago, it seems unlikely that he will be a full participant when the training camp really rises.

If Darrisaw is not ready to go, the Vikings have a few options. They were able to throw Blake Brandel in the role, similar to how he filled in in 2022 when Darrisaw suffered a concussion. Otherwise Justin Skule, who started five games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, could intervene and take over the track for a few weeks.

Ultimately, the Vikings have to play safely with Darrisaw, but we will see how quickly the talented star can come back to its regular form.
