Yes, the Defender is a Land Rover. Although previously called Land Rover Defender, the brand has since been reorganized, making Defender its own brand and making models such as the Defender 110, the Defender 90, the Defender 130 and the Defender OCTA part of the Defender brand and the larger Land Rover umbrella, alongside Land Rover’s other brands: Range Rover and Discovery. The new Defender is inspired by the classic Defender, with styling that pays tribute to its rugged look and capabilities. However, compared to the classic Defender, the new Defender adds modern luxury.
What is the Defender OCTA?
Named after the facets of a diamond and reminiscent of its beauty, luxury and robustness, the Defender OCTA is the luxurious and performance-oriented flagship of the Defender series. With a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 626bhp and 553lb/ft of torque, the 110-based OCTA is fast and luxurious, both on and off-road.
