The high-tech golf league, co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is having a successful first year in 2025 and this will be adjusted to level things out between the two countries. TGL season 2 in 2006.
TGL Season 2 will feature a larger, more challenging green with more holes, redesigned bunkers, team logo holes, enhanced digital graphics, larger playing areas and enhanced viewing experiences for fans.
New GreenZone and Hitting Boxes upgrades for TGL
The most significant upgrade concerns the GreenZone, TGL’s indoor putting and short game area in the SoFi Center.
The putting area has been expanded by 38% and now covers 5,270 square meters – about the size of a PGA Tour green – compared to 3,800 square meters in Season 1.
Together with the expansion of the GreenZone, the number of holes on the green has increased from seven to twelve, allowing for a greater variety of holes.
The contours of the green have been softened and lowered 18 inches to provide more natural slopes and better visibility for players and fans.
The layout of the bunkers has also been revised, with one small bunker removed and the two remaining sand traps enlarged by 50% with layered grass walls to increase the difficulty and create a more dramatic challenge around the greens.
The fairway bunker lips can now be raised or lowered, increasing the risk-reward element of shots landing in these hazards.
The hitting boxes for the digital screens have been enlarged to provide players with more space and better enable divot management.
Additionally, the ball tracking camera towers have been relocated for better sight lines for fans watching into the arena.
What are the team holes of TGL season 2
Each of the six teams in TGL Season 2 has a designated ‘Team Hole’ – one of the six holes from Season 1 that have been customized with localized backdrops and terrain to reflect their home course environment.
This change is intended to give teams a unique advantage on signature holes where they performed well in the inaugural season.
Technology improvements and changes for TGL Season 2
Gameplay improvements extend beyond the physical course, with TGL also upgrading the software that powers the virtual holes.
The system now uses Unity 6 with High-Definition Render Pipeline, significantly improving the realism and immersive quality of the visuals and ball flight physics.
