Texas vs. Georgia odds, preview, picks and predictions

Saturday’s college football lineup includes a primetime SEC showdown between the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs. Texas is 7-2 and ranked No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings. Georgia is 8-1 and ranked No. 5.

Let’s take a look at my Texas vs. Georgia predictions.

Odds between Texas and Georgia

– Moneyline: Texas +180 / Georgia -215
– Point spread: Texas +5.5 (-104) / Georgia -5.5 (-118)
– More/less: more than 49.5 (-110) / less than 49.5 (-110)

Texas vs. Georgia Best Bet No. 1: Georgia -5.5 (-115)

Texas is probably having nightmares about this game from what happened last season. Georgia won the head-to-head series 2-0, even though none of the games were played in Athens. The Bulldogs defeated Texas 30-15 in Austin during the regular season and then prevailed in overtime at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to capture the SEC title. Fast forward 11 months and the rematch is played in Georgia. The Dawgs lost at home to Alabama in the early stages of the 2025 season, but have since restored order between the hedges. They beat Kentucky by 21 points and most recently beat Ole Miss by eight.

Meanwhile, the Longhorns have struggled on the road. They have played four true road games in 2025 and have a 2-2 SU record as a testament to their efforts, losing to Ohio State and Florida. Their two wins both came in overtime against two of the worst teams in the SEC (Kentucky and Mississippi State). Arch Manning has improved lately, but he hasn’t proven he can win a big game yet (beating Vanderbilt at home by three points doesn’t qualify as such).

Texas vs. Georgia Best Player Prop Bet: Gunner Stockton Over 222.5 passing yards (-116)

UGA quarterback Gunner Stockton filled in for the injured Carson Beck in the second-half 2024 SEC Championship, so he already knows how to beat Texas. He’s also a much better player now, to the extent that he’s even in the Heisman Trophy discussion. Stockton has accounted for 22 total touchdowns this year (15 passing, seven rushing) while throwing just two INTs. The Tiger, Georgia native has rushed for 2,040 yards, including at least 223 in three consecutive games.

This is a great game for him against Texas. The ‘Horns are giving up 235.3 passing yards per game. In contrast, UT is incredible against run no. 2 nationally with 78.7 yards per play on 2.4 yards per carry. Count on Georgia to rely on its passing game to move the football.
