Texas A&M begins its final non-conference weekend series as the daunting SEC conference schedule looms.

Texas A&M Baseball will play its final non-conference weekend series starting Friday against Oakland. The Aggies will play a double header on Friday from 2 p.m., due to expected rain on Saturday.

Texas A&M is ranked No. 22 and is 11-1. Their only loss was against the #1 ranked UCLA Bruins. The Aggies are off to a good start and should feel good about it after a disastrous 2025 season, but the SEC conference schedule looms.

Today, the SEC’s 11 teams are ranked in the Top 25, with six ranked in the top 10. These 11 teams have a combined record of 121-22. The #3 ranked Texas Longhorns remain undefeated. The SEC is deep and no series of conference weekends can be taken for granted. There’s a reason why the SEC has dominated college baseball in the modern era.

Oakland heads to College Station with a 1-11 record. They have lost nine in a row. Their only win came against Lamar on February 15. Texas A&M will become the third straight SEC team the Golden Grizzlies will face, having previously played four games against Georgia and Tennessee on Wednesday night.

The Aggies will take on SFA on Tuesday before traveling to Norman to take on the 12th-ranked Sooners next weekend. OU has been to the NCAA Tournament the past four seasons. They were the 2022 College World Series runners-up, losing to Ole Miss.
