Terence Crawford is not interested in hearing comparisons with Floyd Mayweather.
Crawford pursued greatness in an offer for the undisputed super middleweight championship last Saturday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. He challenged Canelo Alvarez for all the gold on 168 pounds. It was a significant jump in weight for ‘Bud’, but he provided a brilliant version to achieve two 115-113 scores and a score of 116-112 for the unanimous decision victory.
It is a monumental victory for Crawford, who has cemented himself as one of the great ones of all time. With Crawford’s CV and Elite power, he has signed comparisons with Mayweather, a well-known international boxing room from Famer. The newly beaten undisputed 168 pound champion appealed to the comparisons during the press conference after the fight.

“Listen, Floyd was the biggest in his era, I am the biggest in my era,” said Crawford. “It is not necessary to compare me with Floyd of Floyd with me.”
Alvarez now knows what it’s like to be on the receiving side of losses for both Crawford and Mayweather. He told a reporter that the better hunter of the two is not really a competition.
“I think Crawford is much better than Floyd Mayweather,” said Alvarez.
Crawford’s Pro boxing record remains perfect and he is now 42-0. This is now “Bud’s” third undisputed championship gain. He has planted his flag firmly on the pound-for-pound debate. The question is now, will Crawford hang his gloves? It would be a story book that ends before his career, but money has influenced a whole series of remarkable names to hang around.
During his interview after the fight with Max Kellerman on the Netflix broadcast, Crawford did not reveal what his next step would be. For now he will enjoy his handicraft. Whether he feels that there is more work to do in his decorated run as a price field can still be seen.
