Stars of Italian sport Jannik Sinner and that of Spain Carlos Alcaraz will face each other in the championship match of the 2025 ATP Finals in Turin, Italy on Sunday (November 16). It will be their sixth meeting this season.

The two men secured semi-final victories on Saturday (November 15), with Sinner denying Australia’s Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-2 and Alcaraz wins over Canada Félix Auger-Aliassime 6-2, 6-4.

Sinner, the defending champion, has now advanced to three consecutive finals of the year-end tournament. He and Alcaraz shared the year’s four Grand Slam singles titles, with Sinner taking the Australian and Wimbledon crowns, while the Spaniard triumphed at the French and US Opens. After three group stage wins in Turin, Alcaraz secured the year-end No. 1 ranking; Sinner is second.

In the first semi-final of the day, the Italian continued his excellent play in his home country. During the group stage and Saturday’s match, the Italian has not dropped a set yet. Sinner also dominated against De Minaur, winning all thirteen meetings, including four this season.

The two played a good first set and were tied in five games before Sinner broke the Australian and served out the opening set.

Sinner, who previously served a three-month doping ban in 2025, broke de Minaur twice at the start of the second set to cruise to match victory in just under two hours.

In the second semi-final, Alcaraz was in full attack mode, opening by holding serve and, in the second game of the set, pushing Auger-Aliassime, who saved three break points, to the edge. At 3-1, the Spaniard took control and broke the Canadian for 4-1. Alcaraz broke again in the eighth game of the set to close out the set.

Alcaraz and Auger-Aliassime held serve in the second set until 5-4, when the Canadian had to hold serve to stay in the tournament. Trailing 0-40, Auger-Aliassime saved one break point before Alcaraz ultimately prevailed.

The championship match will be played on Sunday at 6:00 PM local time.
