Yesterday was steaming hot … in the mid -90s and very damp (close to Florida but not that difficult). I was in the late morning, 90 minutes, only 90 minutes, water breaks only on the Jofre Porta Academy …
After tennis I went to Decathalon (think of Dick’s sporting goods but not so expensive differently than tennis balls), to get a mat for stretching, etc., and a few more foods (Padron Peppers … yes!) … and sunscreen. I went to the huge Alcampo store because it was right next to Decathlon. I especially like that it was a whole aisle dedicated to chocolates! The store was full of children and parents who gave back to school items.
I was pretty tired and jet lagging and did just some exercises, thought the TV, stretched out and called it a day.
Today was a bit of a Groundhog day in terms of tennis, but it was cooler and less moist and I was better … however, the bounces are still used here! I decided to go to Aldi again for some berries and salmon … missed a turn and my general practitioners decided to glitter. I went around in a large circle until I knew a little where I was, stopped and reset my phone (which led the GPS to work), and found Aldi, and then my shelter.
I try to stay near the speed limit when abroad and my speedometer and Google Maps are not synchronous … Maps show that I go about 5 kmp slower than what my speedometer says. And I seem to be the slowest that drives through these narrow one -way streets … Apparently most car manufacturers use the speedometer to show a few miles or kilometers per hour faster than the actual speed. Based on the speeds of other cars here that can be the case. After tennis, lunch, laundry, etc. I went an evening walk on the Ruta Sa Cimernera near Marraxti/Sa Cabaneta. It is an old cement Mijnweg with a few remains of the mine that were closed in the sixties and goes to the mountains along a valley. There are also a few small farms. It was a nice time of the day for a walk, not too hot and the light was beautiful.
