Chris Sale dominates, but the attack falls flat in 3-2 loss

In a season without much excitement, Chris Sale left his return from the injury for Atlanta against the star Cristopher Sanchez from Phillies.

After a strong first from Sanchez, Sale looked like he might have been a bit rusty, the first Phillies fitting. He then put that in bed, with three strikeouts to first finish a scoreless. Albies and Baldwin started the second with two singles, but a doubles and a groundout sniffed that threat. From there it was largely the game of a pitcher. Sales allowed a solo-gay and a two-squeeze in the third and Sanchez allowed a few baserunners here and there, but it was a 1-0 ball game through 5 innings.

The Braves eventually broke through in the sixth, when Profar and Olson started the inning with successive Doubles. Drake Baldwin hit a 109 MPH grounder with two and Olson in third place, but it was hit too much to find a hole and was the last one in the inning.

Chris Sale finished his great return stop in the sixth, with a double, groundout and doubles. Sale managed 6.0 1 run innings with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk on 78 throws. In short, he looked like Chris Sale. That is a truly reassuring sign for the veteran who comes off a long absence. I hope he can exhaust the rest of this year and return to this kind of form at the start of next season. That is about everything you could ask from the sale.

Tyler Kinley got the seventh in a draw after a scoreless top of the inning of the Braves’ attack, which is a strange decision, but it worked in a scoreless framework with two strikeouts. An Olson two-out single was the only Baserunner in the eighth for the Braves, when Pierce Johnson entered the game to hold the draw. He gave a walk and a happy single with one out, but threw Trea Turner out before Dylan Lee came in to face Schwarber with the game on the line. Lee let Schwarber vary, guarding the 1-1 draw that went into the ninth. Both teams brought their shutter in Duran and Iglesias and both worked 1-2-3 innings.

Nacho brought the zombie to home with a one -out of single in the top of the tenth, but that was all that Braves could manage in the attack. Hunter Stratton was the choice of Atlanta from the Bullpen and he immediately hit Castellanos and first sent him to. Stratton spread Bader, but a Bloop -Single loaded the bases with one and ended his outing. Dylan Dodd received the call and broke Brandon Marsh and put the game on Trea Turner with two and the bases full. Turner came through for Philly with a single off the ground ball to bring home the equal and winning runs for Philly. The singles of Stott and Turner had one .430 and .440 XBA respectively and if one of them was one from the Braves, the Braves would have won, but that is on the brand for the Braves of 2025 and will at least help their opportunity opportunities.

Come with us while the Braves want to avoid the four game whip in Philly at 7.10 pm on ESPN.
