Waqf settings managers and managers are gradually coming to the pure with the Umeed portal, which require the upload of WAQF-related documents, after first hesitation and confusion.

The Telangana State WAQF Board (TGWB) and other organizations have held awareness sessions to inform Mutawallis (managers) about the meaning of the portal and the possible legal consequences of non-compliance.

“So far, two workshops have been held with Mutawallis and members of WAQF institutions management committees in connection with the portal,” said Syed Akbar Nizamuddin Hussaini, office carrier of the Anjum-E-Mutawalliy-O-SAJ-SAJAJADMAANANT represents. “There remains some distrust and insecurity with regard to the new WAQF Amendment Act and the Umeed Portal. But after consistent involvement, many now recognize the difficulties with which they can be confronted if documents are not uploaded.”

The fear under Mutawallis stems from their conviction that the TGWB, as an official record holder, should already have documents that determine the nature of a home as WAQF. The responsibility of submission must therefore rest with the board.

Although the Anjuman says that it has largely succeeded in removing fears, the Mutawallis continues to be encouraged to collect any available document that could determine the WAQF -horse of an institution for courts or other competent authorities.

Despite these efforts, certain ambiguities remain and they have been transferred to the TGWB. These worries will probably be expressed on 6 October in the South India workshop about Umeed organized by the government of the Union in Bengaluru.

For example, the granularity of questions in the portal, and the search for statements about whether an applicant has been convicted or locked up caused unrest, according to those who are familiar with the issue. The continued existence of multiple country data and data between departments has further complicated the process. “Some judicial judgments have ruled that land registers of the city investigation are insufficient to prove that ownership is WAQF.” We have advised Mutawallis and committee members to approach the Staatsarchives, TGWB and other agencies to obtain documents such as such as such as mintakhabs And Waqfnamahs. We urge them to make PDFs of this and upload on the portal. “

Even while the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (Aimplb) remains against the Umeed portal, it has decided to inform WAQF managers about their functioning. The Aimplb has appointed Maulana Hussaini as a committee’s convener to give workshops and public outreach programs on navigation through the portal.
