[Teams] Port Vale US Arsenal: confirmed line-ups for Carabao Cup Clash

Premier League Giants Arsenal takes tonight in the Port Vale in Vale Park in the third round of the Carabao Cup in Vale Park.

The Gunners go the match in the back of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League. Gabriel Martinelli scored in a stopping time to save a point after Erling Haaland had opened the score for the city early.

As expected, Mikel Arteta has decided to rotate his team for tonight’s trip to Port Vale and to let some of his most important men rest prior to Sunday’s enormous collision with Newcastle United in St James’ Park.

Kepa Arrizabalaga gets his first start of the season while he replaces David Raya among the sticks. Myles Lewis-Skelly is also retrieved to make his first start of the campaign with Riccardo Calafiori who is on the left.

Ben White is suitable for returning to right back with Jurrien Timber Rust, while Crithian Mosquera Gabriel Magalhaes replaces in the middle of Arsenal’s Back Four. William Saliba holds his place.

Christian Norgaard makes his full competitive debut for the Gunners after his summer movement from Brentford. Martin Zubimendi makes room, just like Declan Rice with Mikel Merino from midfield.

Ethan Nwaneri is returned to start in the attacking midfield role, while Ebereechi Eze is back in the side on the left wing. Martinelli has recently been rewarded for his heroism of the bank while the Brazilian international is given a start in the front.

Noni Madueke is excluded for up to 2 months after he has contracted a knee injury against City during the weekend. Bukayo Saka will be returned to start with the right after the break on Sunday after having restored a hamstring injury.

The 15-year-old Max Dowman is one of the replacements, together with Leandro Trossard and Viktor Gyokeres.
