Team USA player selections

Samir Banerjee, Stanford University: Banerjee, who is entering his senior year at Stanford, has been one of the top players in Division I tennis since he stepped foot on campus in Palo Alto. Banerjee entered college as one of the top juniors in the world, ranked No. 2 in the ITF Juniors Rankings. Banerjee transitioned smoothly to the collegiate space and was named the 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Banerjee was a First-Team All Conference selection every year of his collegiate career and he finished last season at No. 11 in the ITA Singles Rankings. Throughout his collegiate career, Banerjee has a 46-28 record in singles, mostly from the top three positions in the Stanford lineup.

Reese Brantmeier, University of North Carolina: As the reigning ACC Player of the Year, Brantmeier has lost just nine singles matches in her three years in Chapel Hill, while winning a whopping 60 singles matches in that same time. Brantmeier, also one of the nation’s top doubles players, won the 2025 USTA American Collegiate Wild Card Playoff with teammate Alanis Hamilton to gain entry into the main draw of the 2025 US Open Women’s Doubles. Brantmeier, a three-time ITA All-American in singles, has spent most of her career at the top of the North Carolina lineup and helped the Tar Heels win their first outdoor team title as a freshman in the 2022-2023 season. Brantmeier recently gave North Carolina its first NCAA Singles Championship when she was crowned the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Singles Champion in November in Orlando.

Valerie Glozman, Stanford University: The breakout star of the 2024-25 collegiate season, Glozman had one of the best freshman campaigns of any player in recent memory last season. In addition to earning ITA All-American honors in singles, Glozman was also named ACC Freshman of the Year, a First Team All-ACC Singles selection and a Second Team All-ACC Doubles selection. By winning the USTA American Collegiate Wild Card Playoff in singles last spring, Glozman earned an entry into the US Open Women’s Singles Main Draw, marking her Grand Slam Main Draw debut. This fall, Glozman won the 2025 ITA All-American Championship singles title and entered the NCAA Division I Women’s Singles Championship as the No. 1 seed in the draw.

Aidan Kim, Ohio State University: Heading into his junior season, Kim shined last season in what was his first year as a Buckeye. Kim was named an ITA Singles All-American and First Team All-Big Ten Singles selection and posted a career-high 13 wins last season, mostly from the No. 1 singles position in Ohio State’s lineup. Looking to make another leap this season, Kim reached the finals of the ITA All-American Men’s Singles Championship and entered the NCAA Singles Championship as the third seed in the draw. As one of three Buckeyes in the NCAA Singles field, the Buckeyes once again appear to be one of the favorites entering the spring season, with Kim leading the charge from the top of the lineup.

Nicolas Kotzen, Columbia University: One of three Kotzen brothers to bring their talents to Columbia, Nicolas was the last to showcase his talents at the national level, earning First Team All-Ivy selections in both singles and doubles last season. As a junior, Kotzen primarily played No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. Last season he went 27-12 in singles and 28-12 in doubles as he now has more than 100 combined wins during his collegiate career. At the NCAA Team Championships last May, Kotzen earned a victory over Wake Forest’s DK Suresh, who finished the season ranked sixth in the ITA Singles Rankings.

Luciana Perry, Ohio State University: Named the 2024 ITA Rookie of the Year, 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and ITA All-American as a freshman, Perry has been one of the nation’s top collegiate players since joining the Buckeyes. Perry dismissed any notion of a sophomore slump and continued her freshman campaign by reaching the quarterfinals of the 2024-25 NCAA Singles Championship, earning her All-American honors. Perry was named a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection and finished her sophomore season ranked No. 9 in the ITA Singles Rankings after going 32–7 in all singles competition. This fall, Perry ranked No. 5 in the ITA Preseason Singles Rankings and reached the semifinals of the ITA All-American Championships. Perry is the only player in Ohio State Women’s Tennis history to reach the Round of 16 of the NCAA Singles Championship three times.

Team USA Coaching Selections

Alison Ojeda, University of Tennessee: Now in her tenth year at the helm of her alma mater, Ojeda was the 2024 ITA National Coach of the Year and has consistently ranked her team among the top programs in the country. This past season, Ojeda led the Lady Vols to a No. 9 ranking in the year-end ITA Team Rankings, which was the best the Tennessee team had achieved in 15 years. The Lady Vols have reached the NCAA quarterfinals each of the last two seasons and have had three consecutive 20-win seasons under Ojeda.

Andrew Rueb, Harvard University: A Harvard alum, Rueb was named head coach in 2018 after 11 seasons on the staff. Twice selected as ITA Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year and once selected as ITA Northeast Region Coach of the Year, Rueb has helped establish Harvard as one of the top Ivy League programs year after year. Last season, Rueb led his team to a 20-7 record and a berth in the NCAA Team Championship. This will be the second year in a row that Rueb has been part of Team USA’s coaching staff, as he helped the Americans take home gold in France last year.
