The announcement was made by TCS after market hours and TCS shares ended today at RS 3,075.50 on the NSE, fell with RS 93.70 or 3% during Friday’s closing price.
TCS paid RS 11 per share as the first interim dividend for FY26. The company has so far declared 90 dividends since 28 October 2004, according to Trendlyne data. In the past 12 months, TCS has declared a sharing dividend to RS 127 per share and the dividend yield is 4.13%against the current stock price of RS 3075.50.
The IT shares today fell in the midst of heavy sales pressure after the executive order of the US President Donald Trump, which increased the annual H-1B visa application costs from $ 1,000 to $ 100,000 per applicant. Trump’s decision turned out to be a spoiler of D-Street sentiment, because technical shares fell to 6% intraday. The worst fall was seen in Mphasis, followed by Ltimindree, which also decreased slightly less than 6% Intraday. The Nifty IT index fell by 3% with 9 counters in the 10-stock index trade in red. Persistent Systems, Coforge, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro and HCL technologies fell between 4.3% and 1.9%.

TCS has been a market laggard with shares that slide more than 28% in the last 1 year. It not only chased, but also the IT sector. While Nifty’s 1-year returns have a negative 2.3%, the industrial returns have fallen by 12% in the same period. TCS shares are currently being traded among their 50-day and 200-day simple advancing averages (SMAS) of RS 3.105.6 and RS 3,573.7, RS 12.040 Crore in the period of the year ago. The profit grew by 4.4% on a successive base versus RS 12,224 crore in Q4FY25.
The top line in the revision of the quarter increased by 1.3% at RS 63,437 Crore versus RS 62.613 Crore in the period of the year ago. The top line fell by 1.6% quarterly-on-Kwartaal against RS 64,479 Crore in the quarter of January-March. Turnover fell by 3.1% yo -yo in constant currency.
