Taylor Swift’s latest single “Opalite” soars to No. 1 on a handful Billboard charts it has never ruled before. The singer-songwriter racks up another leader on multiple charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 and two of the chart company’s three pop radio rankings. “Opalite” marks a major new hit for the superstar, one that helps her make history on several rosters while ultimately dominating.

On the Adult Pop Airplay Chart“Opalite” pushes from No. 4 to the top in its twentieth frame on the list. The latest promotional version shared by Swift’s The life of a showgirl album becomes her milestone fifteenth number 1.
Taylor Swift’s first hit No. 1 with “I Knew You Were Trouble”
Swift first led the charge on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, one of three songs published weekly by Billboard which focuses on the most successful songs from various subgenres within the top 40 pop space, in March 2013. “I Knew You Had Problems” from her album Red – which helped her bridge the gap between her country roots and her pop future – released one frame ruling and set in motion a historic series of victories.

Taylor Swift beats Maroon 5’s record with a new number 1
Now that “Opalite” has climbed as high as it can go, Swift ties the all-time record for most champions on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. Swift is on the same level as Maroon 5, and the pop band is now forced to share an honor it has held for quite some time.
Unlike Swift, Maroon 5 hasn’t added to its total in over half a decade. The last time the Grammy-winning outfit scored a new leader was in December 2019, when “Memories” finally rose to the top spot. That single would tie “Girls Like You,” a collaboration with Cardi B, as the group’s longest-running winner, as both songs remained on the top rung for fourteen weeks.

Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” tops several pop radio charts
At the same time that “Opalite” is topping the Adult Pop Airplay chart, it is also rising to the top on the Pop Airplay chart. On that list, “Opalite” also becomes Swift’s fifteenth career leader. However, unlike the Adult Pop Airplay chart, Swift has no competition when it comes to the Pop Airplay chart. “Opalite” solidifies her lead as the artist with the most champions of all time. Rihanna, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber all jointly claim the second most rulers, with 11 each.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Opalite’ hasn’t yet topped the adult charts
Of the three pop radio rankings published by Billboard, “firework” the show has yet to run on one: the Adult Contemporary list. This week, as “Opalite” becomes the No. 1 most-heard song on both the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts, the song slips out of the top tier, dropping to No. 11.
“Opalite” is at number 10 on the Adult Contemporary chart, although it is one of the slowest moving charts published by Billboardso it may only be a matter of time before the single reaches new heights.
Taylor Swift claims multiple top 10s on the pop radio charts
Swift fills two spots in the top 10 of all three charts. She books the Pop Airplay tally, appearing at No. 1 with “Opalite” and at No. 10 with “The Fate of Ophelia.” That first The life of a showgirl single holds steady at No. 7 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, where he previously held the lead, while simultaneously climbing to a new high of No. 3 on the Adult Contemporary rankings.
