Taylor Starling does Take on Carla Jade for the Misfits lightweight title on December 20 in Dubai. Chase DeMoor and Andrew Tate headline the card.
Taylor Starling Discusses Misfits Debut
Taylor Starling spoke exclusively to MMASucka and discussed the pressure of fighting on a major Misfits card:
“I think more of my pressure has to do with traveling there, Dubai is a 17 hour flight for me, other than that this is the most not nervous I’ve been before a fight, I don’t feel any pressure, it’s like, you know, of course I’m nervous, I’m going to get into a fight, I’m going to get a scheduled fight like I said, but to know that I’m not going to go in there and fight for my life with no gloves on. It’s something about bare knuckle, every time you go in there you’re like from: I don’t know what’s going to happen because bare knuckle is one of those things that can turn in a second.
On training for a boxing match instead of a bare-knuckle fight, Taylor Staling said:
“It hasn’t changed much, so if I do a bare-knuckle fight, the boxing is tough. The only thing that changes is maybe I put on some MMA gloves and clinch and get used to working with less. Obviously you can’t spar bare-knuckle, but I train boxing every time, every time I train it’s boxing, it’s striking, it’s boxing, um yeah, I go in there and do the same thing”

When asked about her thoughts on the upcoming boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul, Taylor Starling said:
“I think it’s so crazy how it went from Geovonte Davis to Anthony Joshua, like my God, opposites so opposite ends of the spectrum but good for Jake Paul, like fighting someone who can kill you, that’s crazy and I think he gets so much but the man is Jake Paul doing such great things for the sport as he really is, you can hate the man all you want, he was a Youtuber but Jake Paul can fight and Jake Paul is doing great things for women in sports. Jake Paul fights his ass off.
My hats off to him, I don’t see how it goes in his favor, but you know crazier things have happened.”
Taylor Starling vs Carla Jade will take place in Dubai at Misfits Mania on December 20.
