Private sector bank Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) has entered into a partnership with TechFini, a provider of UPI infrastructure and fintech solutions, to strengthen its UPI acquiring and issuing capabilities.

Under this partnership, TechFini will serve as the Technology Service Provider (TSP) for TMB with a collaboration aimed at enabling faster, secure and scalable UPI infrastructure for payment aggregators, NBFCs, merchants and fintech partners across India.

The partnership will also expand UPI use cases in lending and collections, leveraging TechFini’s UPI Autopay solution, which enables automation of EMI and loan repayments directly from customers’ UPI handles.

TechFini’s cloud-native UPI platform can process up to 10,000 transactions per second, ensuring scalability, resilience and enterprise-grade readiness for future UPI innovations, TMB said in a statement.

Salee S. Nair, Managing Director & CEO of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, said, “At TMB, our focus has always been on combining trust with innovation. This partnership with TechFini strengthens our UPI ecosystem and enables us to extend a secure and scalable digital payments infrastructure to merchants and fintech partners across India.”

“We are pleased to partner with Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, an institution with a strong legacy of trust. Our UPI infrastructure is built for speed, security and scale, and together we want to support merchants, lenders and fintechs across India in building reliable digital payment and collection solutions,” said Jaikumar R, co-founder and CTO of TechFini.
