UFC star Tai Tuivasa’s struggle inside the Octagon continued last weekend at UFC 325 when he lost by unanimous decision to Tallison Teixeira.
Tuivasa, 32, was coming off his sixth straight fight after rising up the heavyweight rankings earlier in his career. It extended the heavyweight division’s longest losing streak and put Tuivasa’s fighting future in doubt.
Following Tuivasa’s latest defeat, many fans called for the knockout artist to hang up the gloves to avoid further damage to his long-term health. While Tuivasa didn’t take much damage at UFC 325, he seemed hesitant to throw combinations and struggled against Teixeira’s wrestling.
Tuivasa admitted his decision to return to the Octagon at UFC 325 was a tough one ahead of fight night. After another major setback in the cage, Tuivasa answered his opponents.

In a recent one Instagram post, Tuivasa addressed his fans for the first time since UFC 325.
“That hurts the soul more than any punch,” Tuivasa said.
“I’ve been trying, I’ve had a great camp, I’m looking forward to going back to camp with the boys. There’s so much to work on. Always big love for my supporters, especially the Australian fans/crowd who always cheer me on. I’m sorry I fell short again. F– s- I feel ayy.”
“My poor boy has seen me get ducked a few too many times now. But just like I always tell him, as long as you give it everything you’ve got and keep trying, that’s all that matters. As long as I do this, I’ll always keep trying. I had a great week together with him and showing da fings didn’t get the results, son, but that’s how life goes sometimes,” Tuivasa continued.
“Thank you to everyone who was involved and helped me during this camp and also during the time I was free. I love you all and what you do for me never goes unnoticed. My beautiful partner, thank you for taking care of me and putting up with my things… I love you [Khamzat Chimaev] I’ve come to struggle, brother, teach me that I’m tired of this cuddling.’
Tuivasa’s last victory came by knockout against Derrick Lewis, the UFC’s all-time knockouts leader, at UFC 271.
