Ishan Kishan remains another option. A natural opener and wicketkeeper, Kishan would be an equal replacement for Samson if required. On paper, the duo of Kishan and Abhishek look explosive, but both batters prefer to attack throughout the innings, which could lead to a lack of stability at the top. Moreover, given that both Abhishek and Kishan are left-handed batters, it is likely to give the opponents a match advantage against India.
Considering all factors, India should hold on with Abhishek and Samson as their main opening pair. Giving them time and supporting them throughout the tournament will help build momentum and clarity, which will be crucial for a defending side in a high-pressure World Cup campaign.
