CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A field of talented harness racing mares will line up for the top prizes on Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park as Sweet Molly looks to maintain her red-hot autumn form.
The main oval will have a 12-bar presentation starting at 6 p.m
The Fillies and Mares feature in Race 11 has a purse of $4,150, with Sweet Molly coming in with a win and two seconds in her last three starts and will start from post 3 for trainer-driver David Dowling, who co-owns with Clair Murphy, Derrill Murphy and Cindy MacLean. Sweet Lou’s four-year-old daughter goes in search of life win number 10 against a competitive group.
My Happy Place has been a model of consistency all season and will start from post 5 for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson. The daughter of Betterthancheddar was the winner of The Maritimer stakes at Connell Park in Woodstock, NB, in September and owns a record of 1:53.1 that was replicated at Woodbine Mohawk Park earlier this season.
Galway Girl has post 1 from the red hot Landon Campbell shed with Marc Campbell guiding Shanghai Phil’s daughter. Redland Misspretty (driven by Paul Langille) holds post 2 for trainer Kyle Williams and Elm Grove Mistress (Jason Hughes) rounds out the competitive field from Jennifer Doyle’s shed.
