McGregor has made it clear that he wants to enter the planned map of the UFC in the White House in 2026. The “notorious” has not participated since 2021, but UFC CEO Dana White insists that the Irishman takes comeback plans seriously. White said that McGregor is in the drug test pool and has trained as if he is planning to continue with a return to the Octagon.
So, who can be confronted with McGregor?

“It is not just not a title fight, it is not just a no. 1 candidate fight,” said Sonnen. “It will not be a fight that influences the ranking at all, and everyone is eligible. Whether the UFC brassing Ferguson would return for a fight against McGregor can still be seen. Ferguson was a skid losing an eight-field at the end of his UFC run. Perhaps if McGregor wants the fight seriously enough, he could possibly influence UFC management to book the matchup.
