Aussie Surfinge Mick Fanning has lived a life that few can imagine, but it turns out that simple pleasures such as the after-school run are now at the top of his task list.

Speaking for his annual charity wave day in the Coolangatta and Tweed Heads Golf Club on 13 June, the triple world champion loves life away from the debilitating professional tour and the 43-year-old has no plans to mimic fellow icon Kelly Slater.

It is remarkable that Slater still competes at 53.

“I have absolutely no itchy feet,” Fanning, who apart from WSL events in 2018, told Daily Mail Australia.

‘When I was on the Tour, I threw everything in my performance.

“I have competed in a few events such as Yoker sign, but I am absolutely happy to be retired, I have many life projects to concentrate on.”

One of those projects is the Mick Fanning Charity Golf Day, who sees many Aussie A-list stars participate.

The will of Dylan Alcott, Sally Pearson, Ellyse Perry, Pat Rafter and Karl Stefanovic are expected on the Greens this Friday, with the focus -needed funds protecting for people in need.

“Since 2022 we have picked up almost $ 2 million, which I am very proud of,” said the Golden Turnheartal.

‘I’m not really a golfer myself, I just love a hit with my friends. “Knowing that it is for such a charity, that motivates me.”

Fanning will also ‘celebrate’ the 10-year anniversary of his infamous shark attack in July, where he became a global sensation.

Competing at J -Bay in South Africa on July 19 in 2015, Fanning deviated from a great white person when he participated in the final against his big partner Julian Wilson -and lived to tell the story.

The vision was seen by millions – and Fanning knows that it is the first question on the lips of many people when they meet him.

“I’ve had to do it, I went on,” he said. ‘It was a major incident at the time, I understand that it is a talk point. It was a crazy moment. ‘

In 2016, Fanning founded – together with colleague surfers Joel Parkinson, Josh Kerr and Kere Durbidge – Balter Brewing.

The windfall is amazing, with Carlton United Breweries (CUB) who eventually buys out the brand three years later.

Rumor has that the return was around $ 200 million – not bad for a set of relaxed surfers.

Just like his own career in the ocean, Fanning connected their persistent success to incredible athletics, grabbing big moments and calling an expert coaching staff.

And when it comes to the future of professional surfing, ‘White Lightning’ is excited.

“The world has evolved so since I was on tour … Look at sports science and how professional everyone is,” he said.

Now a father of two, keeps Fanning of the daily drop – off – and after school activities on the Gold Coast

‘Adding surfing to the Olympic Games has also been great … Sponsors now come behind athletes while competing at the ultimate stage.

“I can only see the sport go to a different level.”

A father of two, Fanning loves the daily drop – and after school activities, one of which of course is for his son Xander, is surfing.

He also has a daughter, Lyla Skye.

“It’s great to see the children grow up, the life of daddy is fun,” he said.
