Super Stroke Revl Comfort Grip Review

Super Stroke Revl Comfort Grip
Grade: A
The teacher’s comments: easy in your hands. Good traction with a slight handle.

Super Stroke recently sent a set of their new Revl Comfort Grips and I immediately put them on my set of gamers to test. After several rounds I notice that they are worthy of staying in the service until further notice.

The Revl comfort is part of the new Revl-Line-up of Super Stroke, born from their takeover of Lamkin in 2024. That movement brought Lamkin’s Century of Grip Engineering together with Super Stroke’s sometimes out-of-the-box think. The comfort model is the softest of the trio (element, player, comfort) and is designed for golfers who prioritize the feeling and reduced tension in the hands.

I played for years with Lamkin’s Crossline-Grips, but more recently used winn Dri-Tac-Grips and Super Stroke’s Cross Comfort Grips. Given that, I am probably one of the goal demography of the REVL line.

A difference with any other grip that I used is that the Revl comfort is a faux wrap, with banding and grooves. The ties have a relief hash pattern and the top has a relief “V” pattern.

Super Stroke says the “Ultra-tac“Patterns that are scored in the handles are designed to increase the surface contact, stability and control.

I didn’t think I would like the Wrap-style banding, but went on very quickly. It feels exactly in the fingers.

An interesting turn is that REVL comfort has a larger lower hand profile in contrast to the usual tapered grip design. Super Stroke says that the effect is the equivalent of four extra tape wraps. The idea is that it even promotes handle pressure, a lighter touch and therefore a more relaxed swing.

This seems to be an expansion of the thinking behind the larger well grips of Super Stroke, which the company has delivered its reputation.

The Revl comfort is made of what SUPER Stroke Genesis+ Rubber compounds. It is soft, somewhat tasteless and feels good in your hands. Combined with the larger lower hand profile, I think it encourages a lighter grip.

As Sam Snead would say, you should grab a golf club like you would have a baby bird.

I haven’t tried it yet (for obvious meterological reasons), but Super Stroke says that the material is designed to stay soft, even in cold weather. While I play in Michigan all year round, that will certainly get a training.

One thing that noticed the plastic modeler in me is that there are perceptible form lines with some extrusion residues that run the length on either side of the handles. I have not seen any form lines on other handles I used; I look at the last remaining Lamkin Crossline and Golf Pride Tour Velvets that I have in my gripping box and see none. Maybe it’s something I would see on other wrap style grabs.

In any case, the extrusion idu came loose very quickly, and although I play baldly, I didn’t feel the seams. Your mileage can vary.

The Revl comfort performs well in the game. My arthritic hands appreciate the ease with which I can control the club. I think the larger lower profile feels more comfortable than more aggressive tapered handles.

Do I play better? Hard to say. However, I know that my hands have felt less tender after the last different rounds. I think it is completely likely that if I can keep a lighter grip during the round, my overall game will benefit.

I clearly did not give the clubs a endurance test of several months, but the material seems as if it should be quite sustainable, I think, then winn dri-tacs, which generally last a season for me.

My only abuse is with the color, because white handles always look dirty quickly – and almost never clean up my satisfaction. Fortunately they also come in black. I can order a set of black handles when they become ugly.

For $ 8.99, the Revl comfort is very priced very reasonably. It is cheaper than a winn Excel and the same prize as a Golf Pride Tour -Wrap.

In anticipation of any unexpected sustainability problems, chances are that the Revl comfort will be my grip.
