A super Saturday of auctions today saw a rownise of sale in Sydney, ranging from houses that did nearly $ 2 million above reserve to buyers offering through Facetime from Europe.

An important trend in the auctions of the day was incremental bidding, with more buyers tending to tackle bids, as low as $ 1,000 – or even $ 500 in one case – late at the auction.

Auction’s judge Clarence White said this was due to buyers who were more careful on the market.

“We are still a reasonable price -seeing market across the board,” he said.

“Everyone is still under pressure with loan costs and the costs of living.”

A number of auctions during the day were won by careful, incremental bids.

West

There was a unique result for an apartment auction in Rosebery on Saturday morning, which was eventually won by a buyer on the phone.

Although a telephone provider is not unusual at an auction, copper Breath Cortes was not on the phone to the bank, but his partner, Lotte Selen, living from the Netherlands.

It was a marathon auction on 17 Cutcliffe Ave, Regents Park, that SCRI auctions auctioneer Angus Robertson supervised a total of 37 minutes.

There were six registered bidders, four of which were active.
