The Phoenix Suns are probably finished with all the most important schedules in the valley this season, although there is still some room to work around the edge. They currently have three players in Grayson Allen, Nick Richards and Royce O’Neale who are certainly available if the price is good.
The problem there is of course that the demand for one of their services is not exactly high, although that could change as soon as the trade deadline looms up next year. Many rival teams can talk to themselves in one of those guys, they just don’t have to do in September when the training camp is on the horizon and most franchises have the feeling that they are in a good place.
Suns should try to find a place for Jordan Loyd in Phoenix.
Although the large movements have been made, the Suns still have an open schedule in this team. One that Point Guard Jared Butler could still take, although the Front Office would certainly prefer Devin Carter to take that place if it were available. While he plays for the Sacramento Kings, that is always a possibility.
But of the top 12 scorers currently playing in the incredibly entertaining Eurobasket competition at the moment, Poland Jordan Loyd is the only one who is not on an NBA selection next season. He is currently at Monaco in France – last home of Kemba Walker – and had a year in the competition with the Toronto Raptors in 2018-19.

There are two good reasons to bring him back to the United States for another shot in the competition, and both are as clear as each other. Loyd can play the position of the Point Guard, and that is an area that the Suns needs as much depth as possible. Behind which Van Devin Booker and Jalen Green will start the season in the role, they have Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin.
There is also the possibility that Butler lingers in a certain capacity, but at the moment Loyd looks like a more creative scorer, albeit who is 32 years old. That leads us nicely to the second point, namely that he can be for this schedule exactly what Nigel Hayes-Davis will be as soon as the season starts.
Boys who thought they would have a long career in the NBA, but who had to go to Europe instead to find success. The Suns have three Rookies that all mentorship needs they can get, and who better than a few vets in Loyd and Hayes-Davis who will enjoy this chance at any time. Then there is 23-year-old Green, who could also do with having older heads on his way.
Loyd would of course be cheap and there is a place available for him, so this is very logical. Phoenix has many younger boys with top – including Ryan Dunn and Oso ighodaro – and so taking another older player would appear the right call with this last schedule. If you have viewed Eurobasket, you know how competitive it has been, but Loyd is flowering for Poland.
