Holiday events
The 26th annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Downtown Sunnyvale will take place on December 6, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, on Murphy Avenue. The event includes performances from local schools, games and crafts, and a visit from Old St. Nick. There will be collection barrels at Redwood Square for unwrapped toys and $25 gift cards for teen customers for Sunnyvale Community Services.
Cityline Sunnyvale will host a Sip Shop Eat Holiday Market at Redwood Square prior to the tree lighting from 3 p.m., featuring more than 60 local vendors, seasonal cocktails, snacks and creative DIY stations.

Entries for gingerbread
Entries for the fifth annual Gingerbread Village are due at the Sunnyvale Public Library on December 7 between 9am and 5pm. This year’s themes are Tropical Jungle and Gingerbread City, but a thematic entry is not required. Only one entry will be accepted per household, and the maximum size is 12 inches long by 12 inches wide by 10 inches high. Gingerbread creations are not returned.
The Gingerbread Village, sponsored by the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library, will be on display in the lobby of the Sunnyvale Public Library from December 8 through early January 2026.
