In the 2024–25 season, many thought that the Flames would be a Bottom-Five to-10 team in the competition. The Flames, however, surprised the hockey world and performed much better than expected, finished 15th in the competition and fights for a play -off place to the end.
The team has not added much to their selection during the free desk, but the Flames will add their star perspective Zayne Parekh to the line -up. Will the flames with a new season from a few months be better or worse? We asked, you answered.

Better
About a third of our voters on X believe that the team will be better than last year. Until now, despite the chatter around the team, important players have not been moved. If these players stay on the Roster and Perekh has a great first Rookie season and leaves, there is a chance that the Flames will be in a play -off place. However, I believe that this depends on the youth who still take a step, productive seasons of the best -paid players of the team and another solid season of Dustin Wolf.
Worse
Many believe that despite the success that the flames had, they overflow. The Flames struggled last year to find an attack and their defense was not elite. Nevertheless, they have still succeeded in winning more games than expected. Much of this can be attributed to the goal conference of Dustin Wolf and the conviction that the team had in their skills. There were many games where they were down, but found a way to climb back. It is a great story, but this may not be a sustainable approach, especially if and when the Rasmus Andersson team trades.
Time will tell
If the flames of last year are built and continue to impress, will this change their plans and will it take care of their schedule? On the other hand, if they do it worse and end with a top-five-to-10 pick, do they decide to continue to rebuild and break down the schedule? It is an interesting time for this franchise, and these decisions must be made in one way or another.
