There are two areas that the Phoenix Suns have trouble getting right since the group breaking to the NBA final of 2021. One is clearly the position of the Point Guard – and with Jalen Green who is said to be the solution in that area before 2025-26 – it is reasonable to wonder if that will solve a problem that was created when they exchanged Chris Paul.
The other emergency position is in the middle, although the franchise has made meaningful progress this season to resolve that. Nick Richards was the plaster who transferred the problem at the Trade Deadline last season – and he is perhaps on his way to Phoenix this summer – but both Mark Williams and Khaman Maluach are more solutions in the long term.
Availability of Kevin Love is late for Suns for years.
An intriguing big man who will probably become available in the coming weeks will soon be the 37-year-old Kevin Love. The conviction about the competition that the former NBA champion is looking for another place in the competition before being formally bought out by the Utah Jazz. No matter how interesting it is to consider love in the valley, this is a movement that has been late for the suns for years.
If love became available when Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal were in the city, that would have been another conversation. Even in a role outside the couch behind Jusuf Nurkic, love could have offset another level of the suns, although he would not have changed much at the defensive end about how poor they have been in recent years.
The suns were then also in the second apron, which would have made a movement impossible, given that they could not have went after buy -out boys as a result of their previous cap situation. But now that the organization has the opportunity to go after love – it would also be a lot less difficult to create a schedule place – it no longer needs him.
Kevin Love, who was traded to the jazz in the three-team trade that sent Norman Powell to the heat, is “looking for paths from Utah”, per @Thesteinline.
Which teams should inquire about the veteran power? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/twfc8jzojr

About the only argument you could make is love as an excellent veteran who has seen it all for people like Maluach, Koby Brea and Rasheer Fleming. Even Ryan Dunn and Oso ighodaro could learn a lot from a man who saw it all in this competition. However, the experienced role is an argument that you could make for many players, so it is not much weight.
Love certainly wants to add another ring to his resume when he starts to relax, and he would not get the chance to do that in Phoenix next season. He would actually play and play a defined role, which is more than it can be said for other teams, especially on the hunt for his services. It is a case of the right player, wrong time if the Suns rightly invest in their youth movement.
