Student found dead in the hostel of Bits Pilani Goa Campus; Comps Laarden Poze

A 20-year-old student of the Bits Pilani campus in Goa was found dead in his hostel room, the police said on Sunday (August 17, 2025).

According to the police, the report of the post-mortem in the district hospital in Margao has not remained decisive and the intestines have been sent for toxicological tests to determine the exact cause of his death.

The student Kushagra Jain, was no longer located on his bed in a sideways sleeping position in the Hostelkamer in Vasco in South Goa District around 11 am on Saturday (August 16, 2025), said a high police officer.

The police said they have taken various materials in custody, including looks energy drinks found in the hostel space of the deceased student.

A case of unnatural death is registered and statements from students and the management of the institute are laid down.

The student, from Uttar Pradesh, was a third -year student of economics and computer science.

The police officer quoted students whose statements were recorded and said that the student played table tennis on the campus on Friday evening before returning to his room.

The room was locked up from the inside and when there was no answer from him on Saturday morning, the authorities were informed, the official said.

In a media declaration issued here, Bits Pilani said that they are deeply sad because of the loss of one of his students.

“Kushagra Jain (from Up), 3rd year student of economics and computer science, was found in a non -repeating state on his bed when his room was opened around 11 a.m., and the medical team confirmed that he had died in his sleep,” said the statement.

The police were informed and initiated the required procedures to determine the cause of death, and “we are fully collaborated,” the Institute said.

“The loss of a young life is an irreparable tragedy, and the entire campus community is deeply shocked and sad. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kushagra’s family, his friends and all members of our community affected by this sudden loss,” said the statement.
