Wolves’ winless start to the season continued after a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Despite some great moments from the visitors, a stunning strike from Boubacar Kamara condemned Wolves to their final league defeat.
Wolves are winless in thirteen games this season and new head coach Rob Edwards is still waiting for his first win since joining from Middlesbrough. Despite a nine-point safety lead, Strand Larsen says Wolves must believe the club can escape the relegation places.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “First of all I’m very disappointed because we deserved more. The last two games I think we’ve played two really good first halves. I deserve a goal, the team deserves a goal. The quality of it is holding us back.”
“It’s just very annoying and I have no words for it. We played a very good match, perhaps the best of the season. It’s the first time I feel fresh again since my injury.”
“The staff were excellent, they came in with energy. Conceding a screamer from outside the box is not anyone’s fault. We are really unlucky. Luck comes when you play well and hopefully now things will turn around a bit for us. It’s not an easy situation to be in and it affects our lives. We are big boys and we are doing our best. I want the fanbase to keep believing.”
“We showed up today. We were the best team for most of the game. It’s going against us now. It seems like sometimes they call it offside and sometimes they don’t when there’s someone in front of the goalkeeper. We have to keep going and believe in ourselves.”
