Steven Asplund achieves a huge victory against a solid heavyweight prospect
Originally planned to compete on the upcoming LFA 217 card in his native Minnesota next Friday, ASplund received an invitation to compete for a coveted UFC contract in Las Vegas in the popular television show Dana White’s Contender Series. ‘Concrete’ received the top invoicing for the event and received the substantial allocation of trade magazines with the current CFFC 265-LB champion Anthony Guarascio.
Last seen in action on CFFC 141, Guarascio made waves in the mixed Martial Arts community by winning the heavyweight belt of the promotion in just his fourth professional fight, Starching Compenders series Alum Bailey Schoenfelder in less than two minutes. With almost 14 years of experience in the sport, “The Daywalker” was one of the most experienced opponents for which ASplund had confronted so far. Coincidentally, Schoenfelder also contained the same record as Asplund when he locked Hoorns with guarascio on 5-1.
Immediately from the gate, both heavyweight bruisers started to swing with completely poor intentions and threw hay makers who degenerate a normal person. After just 16 seconds, however, the superior size and the range of ASPLUNT allowed the Midwesterner to land a poldering hook that dropped guarascio to the canvas. A short volley of ground and pound strikes then quickly ended the competition, with Steven ASPLUNT securing his UFC contract with one of the most exciting versions ever seen in the show.
ASPLUND’s trip to the large competitions has always been part of a family agent
ASPLUND earned the third fastest knockout in the history of the competition series and immediately pushed itself into the top perspectation status by dusting the then hot and undefeated guarascio with only one week to prepare. Although his efforts in the cage enabled him to enter the largest mixed martial arts company in the world, his expedition has always been a family affair by the empire of combat sports, such as Asplund’s father, Kevin Asplund, was also a professional hunter.
Making his debut all the way back in 2002, the older Asplund once had an impressive one 15-Fight winning streak That lasted almost a whole decade. Although he would never reach amazing heights in mixed martial arts, “concrete” crossed with a few remarkable names in the forms of Brett Rogers and WWE -standing Bobby Lashley.
The younger Asplund has prepared to continue his father’s nickname in the UFC and has already announced his intentions that he would like to fight at any location at any time.
