Things did not end in a good note with Stephen A. Smith and LeBron James.
During a performance on former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas’ Podcast “Gil’s Arena” FridaySmith said he has zero contact with James and has no interest in ever talking to him again.
“There is no situation and there is no relationship,” said Smith. “He doesn’t like me, and I don’t like him.”
Smith’s comments will arise earlier this year from his feud with the 21-time All-Star, when the two threw each other during various performances on ESPN, which ultimately led to a personal confrontation during a match in March.
The ESPN sport personality added that other things happened between him and James “behind the scenes” that the audience does not know.
“The only thing I would say is that people don’t know the things that happened behind the scenes,” said Smith. “Things that have been said, with whom they were said. The kind of things that are concerned with an attempt to hurt me, together with contemporaries and others.”
Smith also said how he did not appreciate how James came to him on “The Pat McAfee Show”, which is broadcast on ESPN immediately after “First Take”.
“There is a lot of S – T that I don’t say. And there is a reason that I feel the way I do. And the last drop was that he approached me and the Bronny – thing turned into something that I attacked someone’s family when he was what I was talking about. No Bonny.
“And then to continue ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, which arrives immediately after my show. On the channel I work on. To insult me. Now people can come to all kinds of components that go in and all those other things. I have nothing to say.”
Smith concluded by saying that he intends to mention James only in the context of NBA analysis in the future.
“I will never go to every employer, every partner or myself due to exaggerated something exaggerated, unnecessary, when it comes to him or someone else,” Smith said. “I’m going to do my job. I’m going to cover the basketball game.
“But if I never talk to him in life again, it will be fine. And I’m good at it.”
