Episode 249 of The threatening podcast Saw -Guest Dennis James accompanied by Milos Sarcev, Chris Cormier, and special guest Stefan Kienzl, who is a coach of the latest highlight of the Open Division, Urs Kalecinski. And while the German Bodybuilder put it all on the line to switch the transition from the classic physics category, there was a time when Keinzl knew that his protégé was in the right place, as he revealed on the panel.
Urs Kalecinski surprised the bodybuilding world when he finished for the classic physique division that saw a desire to stop dropping so much weight and concentrating on his full potential. It was a risk, not least because Chris Bumstead for this year’s Olympia retired, which means that the chance that the chances of “The Miracle Bear” improved enormously in the classic. Nevertheless, Kalecinski explained that he had difficulty maintaining a lighter physique for Classic and hoped that even if the way to an open category victory would take some time, it would help him “fall in love with the sport again.”
The switch to more muscular Being was supported by coach Stefan Kienzl, and so Kalecinski went into the Promuscle show of September 2025 in Milan, Italy, to see how he would see in the open air. Unbelievable, “The Miracle Bear” met his name and did the apparently impossible, and won the show downright. So, still cherishing in the glory of an Olympia qualification of 2025 in the Open Division, coach Kienzl joined TMP to share the moment he knew Kalecinski could win.
Stefan Kienzl explains when he knew that Kalecinski could win in the Open Division
“You had to be more nervous than anyone else,” host Dennis James introduced to Kienzl, who is a decorated coach with a formidable reputation for the success of Olympia. “I have been much more nervous in the past,” he shared. “This time (it was quieter).” Kienzl even revealed that he knew that his student could win even before the day of the competition. “So for me it was a crucial moment that I stopped being nervous two weeks ago when I saw him personally, in his home gymnastics. Because, you know? Until that moment I was always a bit” can he be so heavy? “
Before their meeting, Kienzl had regularly checked in remotely with Kalecinski. “All check-ins were so brilliant that it was really good to be true,” he acknowledged, the exact moment he saw the full potential of the Wonderbeer. “And I flew to him and he dropped the clothes and I knew that would be great!” Kalecinski further explained that the physique of Kalecinski only continued to improve from there. “That little waist, those balloon -like quads, it was just so much balance and volume and muscle there, that I was pretty sure that he would be very, very difficult to beat that day.”
Of course Kalecinski will now have to enter the shelves with the largest athletes in Bodybuilding. How will he be honest with champion, Samson Duada? Or hot contenders such as Derek Lunsford, Hadi Choopan and Nick Walker? The MR Olympia event takes place between 9 and 12 October 2025.
