Steelers affected bad injury news before he was confronted with Seahawks

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers will go to 2-0 on Sunday, when they compete against the Seattle Seahawks. For the second consecutive match it will be a revenge matchup for the steelers.

DK Metcalf gets the chance to beat his old team. Last week Aaron Rodgers was able to achieve a hard-fought 34-32 victory over his old team, the New York Jets.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh there are some major injury problems prior to the confrontation against the Seahawks.

Losing Porter will be a difficult situation for Pittsburgh to deal with. He has become an integral part of the defense of the Steelers and his absence will be felt.

During his first two NFL season and one match in his third, Porter played in a total of 34 games. He has registered a total of 114 tackles to go along with two interceptions and 17 defended passes.

Pittsburgh will miss more than just porter on the defensive side of football. Both Dshon Elliott and defensive Tackle Derrick Harmon are also excluded from the game.

Other names to view in the injury report are Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith. Herbig has to do with a hamstring injury, while Highsmith appeared on the report with an ankle injury.

Looking at the upcoming matchup, the Steelers have their hands defensively without Porter. Seattle has Sam Darnold first at Quarterback, with his top weapons are Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp.

After a cool show offensive for the Seahawks in week 1 in which they lose 17-13 to the San Francisco 49ers, they will certainly enter week 2 with a more aggressive mindset.

Without Porter on the field, Pittsburgh needs other players to perform. Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay give the Steelers a good cornerback duo, while other players such as Brandin Echols are asked to play a greater role.

It will be interesting to see what Week 2 has in store for Pittsburgh. Playing without a porter will harm the secondary of the Steelers, but they must still be in a considerable form with the schedule they have put together.
