The current road trip has not been nice for the Colorado Rockies. They have only scored three points and are now excluded in back-to-back games. With only two victories to prevent the worst record in the modern era of MLB, the Rockies must find a way to let their attack roll.
Colorado also needs a rebound start for tonight’s starter, Tanner Gordon (5-6, 6.60 ERA). After four strong trips to finish Augustus, including three quality start, Gordon struggled in his first beginning of September, which happened to be against the San Diego Padres. He allowed six points on six hits, including three home runs, in just 3 2/3 innings on Coors Field. Gordon picked up five strikeouts, but struggled with the placement of his pitches and the Padres punished the mistakes.
JP Sears (8-10, 5.01 ERA) has made his fourth start since he became a member of the Padres on the market that Mason Miller transferred from athletics. Sears has not seen much a difference in performance with the move to San Diego, with a 5.52 ERA over 14 2/3 innings over his three starts. He only lasted 3 2/3 innings in his last outing, making four runs on five hits possible, including a few home runs. He has allowed a home run in each of his last seven starts this season and did not let his strikeout items work with San Diego.
In some schedule news, the Rockies Michael Teglia sent back to Triple-A and remained back Blaine Crim. The Rockies took the Crimea from the Texas Rangers at the beginning of August. In 26 games with the Albuquerque -Isotopen he cut .273/.360/.424 with three home runs. He took 11 battles with the Rangers early this season about five games and threw six times against one walk.
