Wayanad-based deep-tech startup NeuBiom Labs has unveiled a ‘Coffee Crop Intelligence’ platform – Canopy – designed to give coffee growers and industry stakeholders a detailed view of crop health and productivity.

Canopy uses technologies such as satellite imagery, artificial intelligence and hyperlocal data to digitize the coffee value chain and build climate resilience. By creating a ‘Digital Twin’ of each plantation, Canopy enables growers to remotely monitor crop health, predict risks, optimize input use and adapt to changing weather patterns. The company says this approach ensures even the smallest farms can maintain yields and profitability amid increasing climate uncertainty.

The platform provides premium insights at an affordable price of just ₹2,999 per year for a complete crop cycle, making enterprise-level technology accessible to every farmer.

In addition to decision support at the farm level, Canopy also provides farmer-producer organizations and cooperatives with real-time insight into yield potential on distributed farms. A key focus is traceability, as the tightening of sustainability and provenance standards in global markets, especially in Europe, poses new challenges for Indian coffee exports. NeuBiom Labs says Canopy’s end-to-end tracking will help Indian coffee stay compliant and competitive.

“With Canopy, our goal is to reduce risk for the small farmer while ensuring the production of high-quality, traceable coffee that meets the highest domestic and global standards,” said Sooraj K Babu, CEO and Founder of NeuBiom Labs. A second-generation coffee planter with research expertise in human-centric AI, Sooraj and his team are leading the mission to bring accessible, transformative technology to India’s smallholder coffee growers.

NeuBiom Labs is incubated at the Atal Incubation Centre, Central Coffee Research Institute-CED, Bengaluru, and is supported by Google for Startups India, Wadhwani Foundation and Kerala Startup Mission. Canopy was jointly released by MJ Dinesh, Chairman, Coffee Board, and Kurma Rao M, CEO and Secretary, Coffee Board, at the recently held centenary celebrations of the Central Coffee Research Institute.
