Stars fight back to beat Wild 5-2 – The Hockey Writers NHL News Latest News, Analysis and more

The Minnesota Wild played on Thursday evening, September 25, host of the Dallas Stars in Grand Casino Arena. It was the second time that the two teams had seen each other last week, with the stars won 3-2 on Tuesday evening, September 23 in the extension. During most of the second period, De Wild gave the 2-0 lead, but the stars came on the board with just under four minutes to go. Wyatt Johnston demolished one over the shoulder of Hlavaj who made it 2-1. He was assisted by Mavrik Bourque and Angus Macdonell. That was the only goal of the second, and it remained 2-1 in the last period.

Johnston scored his second of the game to bind the game 2-2 early in the third. Justin Hryckowian helped him. The stars struck again, this time the goal was scored by Hryckowian to bring the score to 3-2 for their first lead of the game. He was without help. The stars continued to build their lead while Bourque scored on the Power Play with just over six minutes in the game to bring the score to 4-2. He was assisted by Johnston and Christian Kyrou. The stars added another goal on an empty net to bring the score to 5-2. The goal was scored by Vladislav Kolyachonok and he was assisted by Jack Becker. The deal sealed that goal and the stars gave the victory.

The Wild stays at home for their next pre -season match, which will take place on Sunday evening 28 September, against the Chicago Blackhawks. The stars stay on the road while on Saturday, September 27, they are facing the Colorado Avalanche.
