Formula 1 Sensation Daniel Ricciardo, Paralympic Athlete Jess Gallagher and other big names descended to the Gold Coast, while thousands of real estate professionals attended a one -man year event.

More than 3000 brokers and other professionals have attended the Ray White Connect conference at the Gold Coast this week to be inspired and motivated.

Formula 1 superster Daniel Ricciardo headed the conference and blew the crowd in a rare sit-down interview with sports presenter Mel Mclaughlin.

Mr. Ricciardo, who fluctuated his longer curly hair and a beard, spoke about high performance, busy and life after F1.

“This year has been a bit of self -exploration,” he said. “I lived this crazy high speed for so long and this year I have been a bit of silence.”

“I tried to find out who I am, except for this racing car driver.”

Dr. Jess Gallagher stayed in the Fast Lane and shared her story about becoming the most versatile Paralympic athlete in Australia.

She has the distinction with the only Australian – Olympic or Paralympic – to win medals during both the Paralympic Games of the Summer and Winter.

At the age of 17, Dr. Gallagher lost more than 90% of her eyesight of an incurable, rare degenerative eye disease, and was told that her vision would only deteriorate further.

“I have an apparently invisible disability that influences my central vision – a 5 -meter bubble around me,” she said. “I still have a peripheral vision; it is an invisible disability.”

But what followed was a journey of adaptation and discovery that led her to paralympic sport, with performance that ski alpine, athletics, track bicycles and row over voltage.

Recently, at the Paris Paralympics in 2024 – her sixth Paralympic Games – she claimed silver in spore bikes after she had taken the difficult strategic decision to prioritize bicycles over rowing, despite the qualification of both sports.

Dr. Gallagher said that the key to her success was her approach to fear management.

“I use the fear, acknowledge its existence and still go on. You have to open your mind to fear,” she said.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, it acts despite being it.”

The event was also accompanied by Ultramarathon -Athlete Nedd Brockmann, McoBeauty founder Shelley Sullivan and Dr. Richard Harris from the Thai Cave Rescue 2018, who shared their stories and insights about overcoming adversity.

Many of the biggest names in real estate also came together in the event and shared their lessons in life and business.

Among them was Perth Luxury broker Vivien Yap, who shared how she offered her customers the best luxury experience.

“It’s not just about selling the house, it’s about selling an emotional experience and creating a lifestyle,” she said.

“When you raise customer experiences, many agents send a bottle of wine to the settlement, but when you work in luxury real estate, this is not enough. I pour Hermes dishes from Sydney, Chanel NO5 parfum or Tiffany glass work.

“I also have my own artworks that I paint for my customers. It’s not about giving, but creating emotional value and continuous relevance. My goal is to ensure that I am not just a transaction company, I am a trusted curator of lifestyle.”

And it would not be a real estate conference without auctions, with an auction master class that attract new and experienced auction masters who want to sharpen their skills.

The master class was run by Ray White Auction Experts Alex Pattaro, Kevin Chokshi, Jason Atkinson, Pat Lapalapa, Sam Steele and Jeremy Tyrrell, where they simulated various situations during the auction process.

“Auctions have been in Ray White’s DNA since the company started in 1902, and some leading auction experts from the group organized a session about mentioning, set and sell through auction,” said Mr. Pattaro.

Ray White director Dan White said the group had never been stronger.

“We are of course proud of the progress that we have collectively made since our last connection, but we must continue to look at the horizon and continue to chase our potential – that is a tradition that we will always maintain,” said Mr. White.

“Although we are currently at our highest level of market share in our history, we still have the feeling that we are so far from our potential.”
