A massive 11-game slate in the NBA on Wednesday is headlined by a doubleheader on ESPN that concludes with a Western Conference battle between the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers at LA’s Crypto.com Arena. Both teams are off to a fast start in 2025-26, as San Antonio comes in at 5-1 and Los Angeles boasts a 6-2 record.
Let’s dive into my Spurs vs. Lakers predictions dive.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Lakers Odds
Moneyline: Spurs +114 / Lakers -135
Spread: Spurs +2.5 (-110) / Lakers -2.5 (-110)
Total: Over 227.5 (-112) / Under 227.5 (-108)
San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Lakers Best Bet No. 1: Lakers -2.5 (-110)
The Lakers have had a lot of success in this game recently. They are 9-2 in their last 11 head-to-head meetings dating back to the 2022-23 season and have also won four of their last five games. LA is 4-0 against the spread in the last four overall, 6-1 ATS in the last seven, and 3-1 ATS in the last four H2H. As long as Austin Reaves (groin) plays, Los Angeles should be in line for more success on Wednesday. LeBron James hasn’t played in 2025-26 due to a sciatica problem, but Luka Doncic is back from a four-game absence. Doncic scored 44 points against Memphis last Friday before producing a triple-double against Miami two days later with 29 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds.
Victor Wembanyama is doing it all for Spurs, but he has nothing close to his usual help at the moment. De’Aaron Fox has not played yet this season due to a hamstring problem and rookie Dylan Harper will miss at least the coming weeks after suffering a calf injury last weekend. Jeremy Sochan, Luke Kornet, Lindy Waters III and Kelly Olynyk are also out for San Antonio.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Lakers Best Player Prop Bet: Austin Reaves Over 36.5 points + rebounds + assists (-118)
Reaves has exceeded this modest quota of 36.5 in all but one of the 2025-2026 games to date. The former Oklahoma standout is averaging 31.1 points, 9.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. He scored 51 and 41 points in back-to-back games against Sacramento and Portland in late October.
With James still sidelined, Reaves remains LA’s second attacking option after Doncic. Now that Doncic has returned from his own injury problems, Reaves’ points may take a minor hit. But his assist numbers should go up. Furthermore, the Lakers will likely do most of their damage from the perimeter on Wednesday – and that’s where Reaves thrives. After all, Spurs have Wembanyama low and they miss Fox and Harper in the backcourt.
