The Spurs superstar has crashed to the top of the NBA MVP race just a week into the season after a sensational start.
Heading into Thursday’s game, Wembanyama was the co-favorite along with reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to win the award (+275) at Caesars Sportsbook.
The surge comes after a historic start for Wembanyama, with NBA fans fantasizing about the French star’s future.

On Thursday night, the Spurs will look to become the first team in franchise history to start 5-0 when they take on the Heat in San Antonio.
If he can win the award, Wembanyama would be the youngest MVP in league history, surpassing Derrick Rose, who won the title in 2010-2011.
