Special Olympic Games presented with the Fair Play Award for Peace 2025

Special Olympics Sargent Shriver Global Messenger Gilmour Borg and Special Olympics Chief Marketing, Communications & Development Officer Zehra Sayin accepted the Fair Play Award for Peace 2025.

On September 16, 2025, Brussels, Philippe Housiaux, president of the European Fair Play Movement, joined Special Olympic Games the Fair Play Award for Peace 2025, Marking of the third year of the prize and the first time that Special Olympics International has received this prestigious honor.

Founded by the European Fair Play movement and aimed at promoting the principles of Fair Play in Europe, the price of organizations that actively promote Fair Play and use sport as a means to build more peaceful and respectful communities on the continent.

In a video speech, Special Olympics Chairman Dr. Timothy Shriver shared, “Thank you for this extremely important price. The Special Olympics Movement is determined to be a particularly powerful power for peace for decades. We will not rest until every child and every adult with an intellectual challenge offer the opportunity to play, to play an athletes. That is the path to peace.”
