The SA Hockey Ipt Day 3 supplied the drama that we all expected-with semi-final places on the line, called the intensity across the board in the Hartleyvale Stadium in Cape Town, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
The defender Klauwden back from the edge, the SA U21s continued to illuminate the tournament and the hosts remained perfect for their home crowd. With the group phase packed in both the Sections and the B -section -finalists confirmed, all eyes now turn to the knockouts.
Women a section
Northern Blues 3–0 North West
The northern blues stare down and reminded everyone why they are the ruling champions. A composed and clinical version saw a brace and a late strike by Cailynn den Bakker sealed their semi-final place within international Laiken Brisset. Northwest, despite two strong victories, were cruelly eliminated on goal difference.
In U21 5–1 WP -Stiereiland
The Junior Proteas achieved their place in the semi -final in an emphatic way and surpasses WP pennen. Anja Tromp and Malikah Hamza gave SA U21 a lead of two goals before Lane Barnard withdrew one.

Western province 3–0 KZN Raiders
WP closed the polar phase with another dominant display. Goals from Ashleigh Thomas, VACHTATILE Zulu and Stephanie Botha in the first 25 minutes were enough to keep their perfect record – three games, three victories, three clean sheets. The favorites stay firmly on course.
Ladies B section
Eastern Province 2–0 Wp Disa
EP had already secured their place in Friday’s final, but provided their perfect record with a grim victory over WP Disa. Olympian Toni Marks came to life in the last quarter and scored twice to maintain the unbeaten and not -shocked Run of EP.

With a final berth on the line delivered in a spectacular way. They only needed a draw and drove to a 7-0 win to eliminate Mpumalanga and set up a rematch with EP in Friday’s final.
The Ladies B section now takes a day of rest on Thursday for the final on Friday.
