The owner/trainer combination of Caldwell Mamie Racing and Steve Carter won the $18,000 stipend and claimed co-features on the Halloween card (October 31) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.
In the first $18,000 event, Luke Hanners fired Bars And Notes (Racing hill) off the wings and slipped in front of Fear The Madness (Trevor Smith) in the first corner and before the opening quarter in: 26.3.
Honest Nation (Sam Widger) couldn’t find a trail position and was forced to come first and go the long mile. Rockinpoppin (Tyler Smith) picked up Honest Nation’s coverage and used it to his advantage until Honest Nation tired and had to go three-wide in the backstretch.
Half was in:55 and three quarters in 1:22.3.
With all the action well behind the leader, Bars And Notes was able to use a final quarter of :28 to extend his lead to 4 ¾ over Rockinpoppin at the wire.

Handsome Sir (Brett Miller) survived a four-way photo for third place.
Bars And Notes took his 8th career victory and his winning time of 1:50.3 set a new life point.
In the second division, Moons Up (Brett Miller) unleashed a big move in the third quarter, crushing the field of nine in 1:50.4.
Marvin Luna had Twenty Five on his toes as he protected his rail position past the quarter in :27.3 and half in :55.4.
Moons Up, starting from post #6, was used hard in the first half mile, racing on the outside and eventually clearing the leader before the three-quarter mark in 1:22.3.
At the top of the stretch, the second-year son of Lather Up built a sizeable lead and was able to extend his lead to 6 ¼ lengths at the wire thanks to a :28.1.
MANE UP REPEAT
Draw Off (Pat Melloy, Jr.) came from far back to Edge Bet On Sunshine (Tyler Smith) for second place.
Trainer Steve Carter capped off his evening with a win in race #12 with Long Armof Justice (Trevor Smith). The training triple allowed the veteran conditioner to rise to fourth in the Dayton Raceway trainer standings.
Dayton Raceway concludes the race week on Saturday (Nov. 1) with a 14-race card starting at 4 p.m.
