Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) has introduced Rapid Bulanan, a new 30-day travel pass that offers unlimited travel including Rapid KL train and bus services at a price of RM150 per month for Malaysian citizens and non-citizens.

According to Prasarana, due to the growing demand for public transport, including among expats and long-term visitors, the introduction of Rapid Monthly also provides a more flexible and convenient option for users who rely on Rapid KL’s train and bus services on a daily basis.

At the same time, Prasarana also announced price adjustments for a number of Rapid KL travel passes effective from January 1, 2026. It is in line with the development of the public transport network and the need to guarantee a more stable and sustainable service in the long term. The price increase for this travel pass concerns the City Rapid Pass, Kembara Rapid Pass and Family Rapid Pass. You can view the list of price increases via the photo below.

“This adjustment was made based on an extensive study of usage patterns and network expansion
services and current operating costs. However it is implemented, the Rapid KL Travel Pass will continue to deliver the best value to everyday users through consistent savings, unlimited travel convenience and a continuously improved mobility experience,” said Acting Head of Stakeholder Experience Management and Group Marketing, Ashok Panchalingam.

According to him, this move is in line with the transformation of Rapid KL’s train and bus network, which is now much more extensive than a decade ago, including the opening of the Kajang Line in 2016 and the Putrajaya Line in 2022, in addition to the addition of bus routes, expansion of area coverage and increased service frequency.

This adjustment is the first since 2009, taking into account the increase in operating and maintenance costs year on year, in addition to Prasarana’s continued commitment to ensure that safety standards and service reliability are always at the best levels.

However, Prasarana insists that My50, as well as the Rapid Emas and Rapid Mesra concession cards, remain unchanged in price, in line with the ongoing commitment to ensure affordable and inclusive public transport, especially for the needy.
