Bangladesh wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan has shared how Mustafizur is reacting to his recent criticism. Nurul, who captains Mustafizur at Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), was full of praise for his teammate. He said it was normal for Mustafizur to feel disappointed; the left-hander seems relaxed and at ease.
“He is relaxed and at ease. At the same time, there can still be some disappointment. He deserves what he has now, and before he deserved even more. But I think he is doing fine. To me, it looks like he is calm,” Sohan said at the post-match press conference.
Even after the off-field disappointments, the 30-year-old pacer showed resilience and delivered a match-winning spell on Sunday as he successfully defended 10 runs in the final to win the match for Rangpur Riders against Capitals of Dhaka.
“For us, Mustafiz is a world-class bowler. He has been proving that for a long time. Everyone has faith in him. There is nothing more to say about him, everyone is always impressed,” Sohan added.
KKR may sign replacement player
The Satkhira-born pacer was picked up by KKR in the IPL auction late last year for INR 9.2 crore, making him the most expensive player from Bangladesh ever in IPL. Interestingly, he was the only Bangladesh player to be picked in this year’s IPL auction.
Mustafizur, who previously played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai IndiansRajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, have collected 65 wickets in 60 matches at an average of 28.44.
After this fiasco, the BCCI has confirmed that they will allow KKR to sign a replacement player.
